Biography

Timothy Swaan is an award winning editor and documentary producer, with a penchant for working behind the camera as a director of photography.

Timothy began his career in 1999 at WNNE-TV, a small NBC affiliate in White River Junction, Vermont, as a commercial producer and technical director for the morning news breaks during NBC’s Today Show.  Having been educated in film, working in television - especially LIVE television - was a complete tangent from his career goals, but it would ultimately serve him well down the road.

After a short stint working for Dartmouth College’s Media Production Group, Timothy relocated to Los Angeles in the fall of 2001.  He was hired by Echo Entertainment as a staff editor and camera operator. While employed there, he traveled the country producing, shooting, and editing major sports shows (snowboarding, skiing, mountain biking, and inline/BMX/skateboarding) for NBC, CBS, Fox Sports Net and Vs (then known as Outdoor Life Network).

In 2003 Timothy left his full time position to go freelance, and worked on CBS's fifth successful season of Big Brother as a director, immediately followed by season one of FOX's Hell's Kitchen - also as a director. His days at the TV station paid off!

In 2004 and 2005 he acted as producer and editor for the travel show Adventure Highway for Vs.  Today, he is director of photography and editor for breakthrough series called The Incurables, to air on a new alternative health and lifestyle network, Veria, which launched October 3rd, 2007 on Dish Networks satellite system.

Timothy now owns his own edit system and enjoys working from his California and northern New Hampshire residences, and is also actively pursuing the development of several independent projects including two feature screenplays.
